LED---Harmful or Beneficial to Our Eyes?

The LED lighting industry has revealed the problems LED is having in recent days just when LED is generally considered to be the most desirable light source for the future. As a novel light source, LED has achieved rapid development in technology application in recent years. In the meantime, people are getting more and more concerned about the potential harm some LED lamps will do to our health.
People living in the cities are amazed at the crystal Milky Way when spending time in remote village. Nowadays, it is difficult to see stars emerging in the Milky Way because of excessive usage of lighting system. Stars and the splendid Milky Way are giving way to the luminous lights of buildings and plazas. In addition, LED could also lead to hazard glare which accounts for an important component of ray radiation. Our eyes will feel extremely uncomfortable when encountering glare. Those who use unqualified LED lighting system frequently are likely to experience eye fatigue and decreased vision.
Although unqualified LED does harm to our eyes and health, it can be improved to a level where harmful effects are minimized. Researches have been done to ensure that some LED lamps could maintain the eye vision of the users. Some advantages are included in LED lighting materials such as no flash, dazzle and UV radiation. Some LED tube manufactures, for instance LED tube T8 producers, are taking into consideration consumers' need for healthy light source. Some eye protective LED lamps are thus developed to help kids maintain their vision when studying.
It is believed that LED light source is the development tendency of future lighting system based on its high efficiency, stability, reliability, environmental friendliness and security. Nevertheless, a large number of unqualified LED lighting devices in the market will affect people's judgment. Parents have to be cautious about the harmful effects of unqualified LED lighting devices and select LED lamps that protect kids' eyes.
